My name is Laurie Ann and i'm a digital scrapbook designer at ScrapArtist. I sell under the name, HGD which is short for Heaven's Gate Designs.  God has blessed me with two remarkable children, {who are all grown, Michelle is 27 and Joshua is 18} and one incredible super-man, Scott! I live in New Hampshire, forty-five minutes east to the beach, ninety minutes north to the mountains and five minutes to the nearest mall. I wouldn't want to live anywhere but here!  Twelve years ago was when I started scrapbooking and creating greeting cards.  I've always enjoyed playing with pretty paper, colorful new markers, beautiful stamps, and using my sewing machine.  September of 2006 I learned about digital scrapbooking and the rest is history! ScrapArtist was the first scrapbook site I purchased from and the first site I uploaded to; it feels wonderful to have come full circle. 

To be a guest designer for Songbird Avenue is truly an honor and I must tell you that I've been smiling like a Cheshire cat since I've known. :)  Thanks so much to Jan, Janet, Amy, Liz and Meredith for allowing me to play with you all this month.  I've chosen the Mercy Ships as my charity because this global charity provides hope and healing in the form of free surgery to the forgotten poor as well as, the Mercy Ships' Disaster Response Team to help with disaster stricken areas like Haiti.  Mercy Ships are a fleet of hospital ships with volunteer doctors, nurses and staff with ginormous hearts!
